According to Adobe, Acrobat Reader 10 also improves scrolling and zooming for the rendering of CAD and 3D graphics, plus it fixes a whole bunch of bugs and security flaws encountered in version 10. But then again, they said the same things about version 9. And while hitting version 10 might be a milestone, calling it reader X is bound to confuse users who are not so technically minded.
Cynicism aside, Adobe have take some steps to improve the security of Reader X. The overall new features include:- Reader X has now a new security feature called sand-boxing. The program is given limited access, so if a virus strikes the program, the possible damage is reduced.
- The new Read Mode is used when a PDF document is opened within a browser. There is less clutter, giving a easier way of viewing the content of PDF files.
- A feature only available in the paid up version, Adobe Reader X now lets you highlight and add notes to text.
